Hello! I’m Ms. Viviana R. Diaz
I began teaching piano in Miami Florida at the age of 15 while still studying piano performance, theory, solfeggio, music history and music pedagogy with a private National Guild of Piano Teachers American College of Musicians piano instructor from Havana Cuba, Ms. Migdalia L. Medina.
Love for music is in my blood, I grew up surrounded by musicians and artists.
I’m the granddaughter of Cuban composer Ms. Nila Fernandez- Pujol who wrote the hit song “Para mi Cuba un Son” recorded by my grandfather, lead vocalist and guitarist of the famous Mexican groups; Trio Caribe and Trio Janitzio, Mr. Roberto Hernandez. She also composed “Navidad de Nieve” recorded by the renowned Mexican Tenor Mr. Pedro Vargas in 1957.
I am now The Chairperson of The National Guild of Piano Teachers American College of Musicians in Miami-Dade County FL. Superintendent of The Miami-Dade County Youth Fair’s Performing Arts Piano Competition, proud official Steinway Educational Partner, Steinway Top Teacher and President ofMiami Music Stars Inc.
I have a National Guild of Piano Teachers Honor Roll for 30 consecutive years!
I have 30 years of experience as a piano instructor in which I have successfully prepared students for National Piano-Playing Auditions at The University of Miami and FIU through the NGPT, Stage Masters Piano Competitions, Miami Dade County Youth Fair and Exposition Performing Arts Piano Solo Competitions, as well as recitals and other music shows and events.
I have taught at three private music schools; Migdalia Piano Academy, The Music Workshop and Christian Learning Center teaching kids from Pre-kinder through High School levels and I have also served as a volunteer at Templo de la Biblia Abierta teaching music and arts and crafts during a Children’s Summer Camp. I currently operate my own business from home; Miami Music Stars Inc.
Teaching is my passion, I love kids, I enjoy their thoughts and questions, I like dedicating all my effort to them, it’s what I believe to be my little drop of water to contribute to an ocean of a better, more creative and musical world for the next generation, it makes me happy because I feel it’s what I came here to do (to be a teacher of many things!) and being a positive influence for the kids I teach makes a difference in their life and in mine, It’s a very beautiful thing!
